What to Expect on Your First Visit for Chiropractic Care

Before arriving at Messamore Family Chiropractic, we ask that you complete our ONLINE PATIENT FORM so that we can streamline your experience with us. This allows us to have your health history and information readily available for your consultation and examination.

Your Initial Consultation and Examination

After checking in with our receptionist, you'll have your consultation with Dr. Keith Messamore for your consultation about your health-related problems and concerns. Dr. Messamore will learn more about you, your condition, and what solutions would be available to address your concerns and health goals.

A complete chiropractic examination will follow to test your reflexes and flexibility. You'll also undergo some standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, and physical tests. X-rays may be taken depending on your specific condition to help us develop a treatment plan, identify misalignments and degeneration, or alert us to other serious conditions with your spine.

Starting Your Treatment and Wellness Program

After the examination, Dr. Messamore will answer your questions and discuss recommendations for treatment. If other providers are needed to provide specialized care, Dr. Messamore will give you suggestions on who to see as well.

You may choose to have your first treatment immediately after your examination. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapy, and soft tissue massage. We can answer all your questions and concerns about the different styles of treatment available to you.

After your examination or treatment, Dr. Messamore will suggest a wellness program for you to incorporate outside of treatment in our office. This may include ice or heat applications, certain activities or positions to avoid, diet adjustments, and home exercises and stretches. Our customized wellness plans are designed to promote healthy habits and routines for your everyday living.
